Mit einer grandiosen Jahresversammlung ist die JUSO St.Gallen ins neue Jahr gestartet. Das neue Präsidium mit Angelo Zehr und Monika Simmler und der neu zusammengesetzte Vorstand freut sich auf ein erfolgreiches 2012!

An der Jahresversammlung vom 7. Januar hat die JUSO des Kanton St.Gallen Angelo Zehr zum neuen Co-Präsidenten gewählt. Er löst Tim Rüdiger ab, der weiterhin im ebenfalls neu gewählten Vorstand aktiv sein wird. Die bisherige Co-Präsidentin Monika Simmler wurde mit einem Spitzenresultat wiedergewählt.
Der neu gewählte Angelo Zehr* war bis anhin im Vorstand der JUSO St.Gallen tätig und war Sektionspräsident der Sektion St.Gallen Stadt & Region. Als Kandidat und Wahlkampf- verantwortlicher hat der 21-jährige St.Galler bei den letzten Nationalratswahlen zum grossen Erfolg der JUSO beigetragen. Zehr freut sich ausserordentlich auf die Zusammenarbeit mit Monika Simmler* im Präsidium. Zu seinen Plänen äussert er sich: «Die JUSO hat mich verändert – jetzt möchte ich die JUSO verändern.»
An der sehr gut besuchten Jahresversammlung wählten die Mitglieder ausserdem Claudia Bühler* (20, St.Gallen), Lukas Jansing (17, St.Gallen), Damian Rüegg* (17, Degersheim), Tim Rüdiger* (18, St.Gallen), Marco Meneghini (neu, 21, Sargans) und Dominique Schmid* (neu, 21, St.Gallen) in den Vorstand. Die neu zusammengestellte Parteileitung ist hoch motiviert, den Kampf für eine starke soziale Stimme im streng bürgerlichen St.Gallen weiterzuführen. «Mit den letzten Nationalratswahlen und mit der Wahl von Paul Rechsteiner in den Ständerat fühlen wir uns bestätigt und werden nun alles daran setzen, dass dieser Erfolg bei den kommenden kantonalen und kommunalen Wahlen anhält.», kommentiert Zehr.
Bei den Kantonsratswahlen vom 11. März tritt die JUSO mit insgesamt 17 Kandidierenden in sämtlichen Wahlkreisen mit mindestens einer Kandidatin / einem Kandidaten an. Zu Gast war deshalb Peter Hartmann, der neue Kantonsratsfraktionspräsident der SP. Er liess die Jungpolitikerinnen bzw. Jungpolitiker einen Einblick in die parlamentarische Arbeit in diesem Kanton gewähren. Ausserdem eingeladen war Peter Sutter aus Buchs, der sein neues Buch vorstellte «Zeit für eine andere Welt - Weshalb der Kapitalismus keine Zukunft hat». * kandidiert am 11. März für den Kantonsrat
